Practical Knowledge Versus Unpractical Knowledge

KNOWLEDGE & LEARNING

is there such a thing? / if yes => which is which?

ancient Greeks saw the difference / knowing something = episteme / knowing how to do something = techne / distinction between theory & practice

a deeper question => should we know something for the sake of knowing something? / or should we know something to do something with that knowledge? / what an entanglement of words! LOL

we need to balance both or theoretical knowledge becomes a useless abstraction for real life applications

The decline of practical skills, some of them very day-to-day, among a generation of British men is very worrying. They can't put up a shelf, wire a plug, countersink a screw, iron a shirt. They believe it's endearing and cute to be useless
