The Hard Life of the Writer
Most people like the works of Fyodor Dostoyevsky, but his wife wrote after his death:
…until the very end of his life Fyodor Mikhailovich had not written a single novel with which he was satisfied himself; and the cause of this was our debts!
Unlike many other contemporary writers such as Tolstoy or Turgenev, he lived by his writing and struggled throughout his life to earn enough money.
Today is the same history for many authors. Writing is a tough profession.
